How much should I sell a signed gloves by Muhammad Ali?
My late grandfather has a signed autograph gloves by Muhammad Ali when he fight Joe Frazier here in the Philippines, Thrilla in Manila.. My grandfather was a fan of Ali way back in the 70s… The gloves is a little bit old kept on his portfolio bag.. he also got a picture along with Ali… My grandfather died 2007, and my relative don’t give a damn on the signed gloves… (a pair)
I asked this since Nick Bruiser asked a question about autographs… this gave me an idea to sell this pair of gloves..
The pair of gloves didn’t belonged to Ali.. it was just a signed autograph. Color red… and this glove is shown in my grandfather’s pictures when he shake hand with Ali… =)
If it were me I would keep it. Not just because it was signed by Muhammad Ali, but because of the love your grandfather had for Ali, and the memories he had during that time (and passed on to you). But if you’re that desperate for money and don’t care about your grandfather then….. as long as Ali didn’t sign the glove to your grandfather (“To Bob….from M Ali”), sell it on e-bay and make sure to tell bidders the history on it (like you told us here). If you take it to an auction house, you wont get top dollar, cuz they need to make a profit. They’ll probably give you US$50-$100. But a REAL Ali fan would probably pay higher. (I know I would). So, think it over. You might want to buy a glass case for it and display it proudly in your home. As you get older, you might be sorry that you sold it.
