Was George Gershwin also an actor?

I recently ran across the draft card of George Gershwin, and he indicated on there that he was an actor. I’ve seen plays and operas that he’s written, but I’ve never heard of him acting in them. I also don’t believe that he’s been in any silent films, so was he an “actor” as well as a playwright and a musician?
…and also, if he did act, where can I find footage of said acting?

There are some kinescopes of him playing some of his improvisations – that’s about it.

And @TinPan – when my husband had a low draft number in 1972, and had to report for his physical – the *intelligence test* consisted of dismantling a carburetor. He asked if there was going to be some further test, or a written one – they asked him what he did. “Classical pianist”. They made him carry an ORANGE FOLDER all day – potential troublemaker.
