Plenty Of New Issues Are Happening At Ole Pass Up Rebels Fall Camp

With all the opening of fall camp on Sunday at 5:25 pm, Ole Skip Rebels heads off for an additional round of competition from the forthcoming 2010 soccer conference games. After practicing basic approaches for many days, the workforce will probably be in full gear on Thursday August 12. Apart from the usual activities there are lots of issues new in camp.

1st and foremost is the absence of their Offense Coordinator, Kent Austin who had earlier left for his job as head coach at Cornell University. Previously this year, Coach Houston Nutt had signed in Dave Rader as the team’s co-offensive coordinator and quarterback’s coach.

The 52-year old businessman who has had 9 years as assistant mentor and 12 years as head coach came in this year for his fourth stint from the Southeastern Conference. He last served in a football crew as part of the staff of coach Mike Shula for the duration of his stint with Alabama from 2003 – 2006. Rader graduated in mechanical engineering from Tulsa U where he played as  starting quarterback. He was included in the Independence Bowl Hall of Fame in 1999. Presently, Rader shares the co-offensive coordinator position with Mike Markuson.

“Tig” Barksdale, the 2007 Mr. Football was dismissed from the workforce prior to its opening. He was formerly charged with DUI and driving with out a license and was under suspension last spring for “violation of crew rules,” The immediate trigger of his dismissal was not specified by Coach Nutt who only commented that he was dismissed so he could resolve certain personal issues.

The opening of Ole Miss fall camp saw about 400 folks attending just to get a glimpse from the controversial Jeremiah Masoli who was previously with all the University of Oregon. In the course of his stint there he received six football awards. Among these awards are the 2008 Holiday Bowl Most Valuable Player, the School Soccer Overall performance Awards of 2009 for Elite National and QB Performer along with the School Soccer Overall performance Awards of 2009 for Midseason Favorite.

All but one of his awards were obtained in 2009. From the early part of 2009, he was convicted of second-degree burglary for which he was suspended from playing for 2010. A few months later, he was again convicted of misdemeanors related to drugs and traffic violations. He was then dismissed from the staff.

His status with Ole Pass up Rebels is ‘zero-tolerance.’ According to Mentor Nutt, if he behaves effectively and shows the same performance in football that he showed with Oregon, the group can surely use him for its offense. Proper now it is a choice between him and Nathan Stanley as to who is to head the defense.

Masoli has only one season left to play so mentor Nutt should be thinking about getting some of his tactics of play and teaching them to the crew members who have far more time to play with the staff. Me might be able to teach Ole Miss Quarterbacks something prior to he graduates.

Some junior players who did effectively inside spring video games may well be given key positions in this year’s video games. These are Damien Jackson, Wayne Dorsey and Randall Mackey.
