What is the best way to get autographs at Spring Training?
I would like to get autographs from some of the Cardinals stars, but every time I try to get autographs after the games no one signs autos.
It helps most to be a cute little kid, but if you want autographs go in very early before the game, when players are walking between different parts of camp. I racked up on autographs in Jupiter when I was a kid. Unfortunetly they have cut down a lot of access to the players there since 9/11(so much security).
The last time I went to jupiter, 2 years ago, there is a place where you can walk all the way around the fence by the parking lots and get to the training part of the camp. This is the best place for autographs. In fact you will probably walk away with as many as half a douzen baseballs if you want. I was fortunate enough to meet Albert Pujols there his rookie year, no one paid him much attention(they were all after mcgwier). We had a nice 5 minute conversation and he signed an autograph for me. At the game later that day I was sitting on the first base side, and he must of recognized me and threw me the ball. Great man.
So with a litle bit of luck, patience, and strategy, you can get some autographs. Also dont be too affraid to “break the rules” all they will ask is for you to please leave if you feel like you shouldn’t be somewhere, but usually they dont even care.
Hope this helps.
