whos Basketball HOF induction speech last week did you enjoy the most?
Stockton’s speech.
I laughed and it was very humble. Him going through his childhood stories was insightful, colorful and funny. I thought it was cool that he downplayed himself as a player. Even stating that, “Out there is a large group of people,” he said, “who traveled over 1,000 miles – some from Hawaii, some from Alaska – just to support me. I almost started laughing there because I think they actually came to see Michael.” and that Stockton thought he was “a one-year-and-out guy,” something he admitted at a press conference earlier in the day.
Actually all of them had really good speeches.
Jordan’s was a little bitter, but promoted the future of the NBA. And seems to be determined to be with the NBA for years to come. I jut hope he really doesn’t try to make a comeback at 50! I’m sure he was kidding… but he did look awfully serious about it.
Robinson saying he prayed for Tim Duncan. His dignity still intact as was his praises for Coach Pop and Avery Johnson.
Sloan getting a HOF plaque before ever winning a Coach of the Year award. Was short and to the point.
