Wait-list and Galveston Program for A&M?
So, I wasn’t offered full admission to A&M’s main campus. However, I was offered the option of being put the wait-list, the Galveston year program, Blinn, and the PAS program. I decided to sign up for the wait-list and apply to Galveston.
I’m just wondering on the wait-list, how do they pick which students are allowed? Do they re-review students, or is it by the date you signed up for the wait-list? I signed up today, if it’s the latter, do have any chance?
For Galveston, has anyone been to their Galveston campus? I’m torn between Baylor and A&M. I really want to be an Aggie, but I don’t know how hard it be to go to a campus for a year, make friends, and then transfer to as big as a university as A&M the next year. Has anyone been a transfer student and found it easy or hard?
Any help is very appreciated, and sorry that it was a bit wordy
You should choose Baylor, and forget about our arch-rival Aggies.
A&M will re-evaluate you after your year at Galveston. It’s my understanding that it’s not like competition if you are going that route, but you just have to keep up a certain GPA. But if you don’t make the set GPA then you will just be out of luck.
I was a transfer student. It wasn’t hard, per say. You do feel more out of place though at first, than an incoming freshman does. You’ll make new friends eventually through classes and activities and whatever. It’s just if you go to a university as a freshman out of HS you make friends with all those coming in also new to the experience and it’s just a connection. As a transfer student, there isn’t as many and you’ll be in classes with people as a newbie when they’ve already gone through the ends and outs of the campus and everything. But everything will work out after those first weeks.
No regrets.. it’s just a whole different experience.
Lord you’re Holy-Helen Baylor Sign performance
