Are these autographs worth it?
I go to this collectibles place often to get athletes autographs. They have this box with a bunch of them. Last week I got Len Dawson (Hall of Fame QB), Bill Madlock (former batting champion), Lee Smith (former all time saves leader), and Kent Tekulve (Pirates closer during 1970s) for $5 each. I’m planning to go back this weekend for more, but am curious if these are woth the price. They come on 8×10 photos with certificates of authenticity.
They also got bigger name guys like Isaih Thomas, Bob McAdoo, and Robert Parish in a box for $20 each. I just figured the four I got was a better deal then spend the same for just Parish for example. Would that’ve been better to get.
By the way, I got Kent Tekulve because I’m a big Pirates fan and he’s one of my favorite players. I know he’s not as big a name as the others.
These items are worth what you paid and perhaps more. Right now, the market is somewhat depressed, but it will improve over the next two years.
