I think you mean Brett Hull. Sorry but that’s an important part of what you want to know. Genetics always play a role in athleticism or not if they come from the mother or another relative. Many times it runs in all the family especially if they have been taught to love the game as a child. Children learn what they live. If you grew up in an environment where hockey was a sport that was watched by most of the town, you would most likely be interested. You would be even more interested if you grew up playing it with relatives and admiring your Dad. It is how the Dad acts and what he has to say that will determine if the son will follow his example. You have to have a love of the game and positive support to make it. The genes can only go so far, so I think the environment will outweigh the genes. Many who have the genes choose not to play a sport or anything a family member does. He may be influenced by his peers. Interesting question!
