Level 3 armed guard certification regarding firearms?

I’m going for my 30 hour lvl3 cert. for armed security guarding. With this certification can I carry level 3 weapons (full auto) or do I still have to pay the huge tax stamp with the atf?

You will still have to pay the $200 tax stamp to the Department of the Treasury for ownership. Unless you hold a FFL/SOT license (Class III dealer), or have official authorization as part of a military or law enforcement unit, then you are still considered a civilian and must pay the tax if you wish to own the weapon privately.

With the cost of NFA weapons since the 1986 ban (average of $10,000 or more), the $200 tax stamp shouldn’t be all that big of a deal. Carrying the weapon in your line of work will depend on what kind of permits you have. If you are a licensed security guard and have the permits to carry the full auto weapon, then you can. Simply using it in your line of work does not require a tax stamp, but owning it does. Similarly, if you work for a security company and you are authorized to carry one of their weapons in your line of work, then you will be licensed through them, but will not owe any tax stamp.
