Dress The Dog: An Easy Business To Begin

Most people these days have a pet. In the United States, forty percent have dogs in their home. Many people treat their pets as good as a family member. To enter the pet marketplace with clothing for dogs would be a quick way to make fast easy money online even these days.

Pampering the pooch seems to be many people’s priorities. A dog groomer is no longer the place to just get the dog washed. Many have transformed into spas for the dog. Many groomers offer spa services such as custom hand scissoring for the cut instead of clippers. They offer aromatherapy massage, mud masques for the dogs and hot oil treatments. There are so many more specialized services that are offered to the dog owner for the dog.

Many of these owners also dress their dogs in clothing. The dog clothing market is ever growing. Some of these owners buy high end designer duds for the pooch such as Louis Vuitton. The dog apparel market is ever growing.

If one would like to get into business for themselves, they only need to go to the dogs. Finding a niche in the clothes market would be fairly easy. You would need basic sewing skills initially and as you get practice you can try harder patterns such as fancy dresses. To start, make some clothes at home. Use your dog as your model. There are free patterns online.

Once the clothing is created and there are some made for sale, the owner should begin marketing their line. Attending local events such as craft fairs and festivals are a good way to get the product in front of consumers.

This is where the local high school team products would do well and especially around the holidays. National sports teams are another route to go. In the United States, football, baseball, basketball and hockey are extremely popular. Testing this type of avenue may prove successful.

Purchase some business cards to market your products. Disperse them at any given opportunity. Word of mouth grows a business. Create a website or sell you fashions on an online auction site. Contact the groomers around you and see if you can present your merchandise to them. Ask if they can display the apparel at their shop on consignment. They may be more willing to do on consignment as they will not have to purchase the clothes from you first and then try to sell them.

Clothes for dogs is a money maker. People like to show off their prized pooch. They like to treat their dogs like they are the baby of the family. Dog coats, shirts, dresses, costumes and pajamas are a way to make cash fast. These items sell quickly.
