Why would the Cubs insult the man who helped make baseball what it is today?
So what if he took steroids that in no way gives the cubs the right to give his number to someone like Milton Bradley who will disgrace it.
What Sosa did for the game during the 90′s makes me believe he should be in the HOF
And yet the Cubs organization slaps him in the face by giving away his number to a 3rd rate player like Bradley.
The number 21 should be retired by the Cubs and Milton Bradley can go chase radio announcers somewhere else
As a die hard Cubs fan for 20+ years, I am in the minority by saying that Sosa was overrated. Despite what he brought to the team, he was overpaid and not worth it. I do believe that he took something (maybe not roids, but something), and his ‘i only use the corked bat in batting practice’ line was about as believable as a $3 bill. His attitude at the end of 04 & 05 showed how truly classless and selfish he really was. Is there really any wonder why he hasn’t played ball in 3 years? I hope the Cubs never retire # 21 on his account. I also hope he never gets voted to the Hall unless there is undeniable proof that he was clean during the 90s.
