Any advice on stain or sealant to use on a new treated wood deck?
It is going to be finished next week and I’m sure I need to put some kind of stain or sealant on it, but I have no clue about name brands or the different kind of products available. I live in southeastern USA, wet humid climate and the deck is surrounding a swimming pool.
I said the wood was treated, I meant that it was pressure treated. I do not know if this is the same thing.
let it dry and acclimate for a few months and i found that cabot’s australian timber oil or penefin and had good luck. although they still didn’t last as long as the manufacturer said. I tried the top of the line olympic from home depot and it didn’t even last 4 months and the can said five years. I would go to a quality paint store in your area and get the advice of a professional. (not home depot or lowes)
