Cancer From Drysol?
You’re out shopping and see Drysol on the shelves. You get a bottle because you think it’s precisely what you need. You haven’t. Take a close look at the product – do you know for a fact that it’s risk-free to use?
Dismiss the question all you want, but that does not change the fact that there are those who worry about it. As with petrochemical products, there is a fierce debate underway about whether or not Drysol can cause cancer. Studies suggest that certain chemicals found in Drysol and other antiperspirants can affect hormones, which in turn can stimulate the development of malignant cells. To be precise, more than one study has tied up breast cancer with underarm deodorants.
These days, you can find large amounts of information on the connection between cancer and genetic predispositions. While there may not be gene tests available yet, you should be very careful about using Drysol, especially if a family member has had breast cancer. Can’t figure out why? It’s simple; the fact that a family member has (or has had) cancer jacks up your chances of having the same by leaps and bounds. I don’t mean to scare you, but family history is always a good gauge of whether you will develop cancer or not later in life.
Undoubtedly, manufacturers want to show their products are completely safe for public use. And of course, the companies that produce a prime ingredient of Drysol are one of the most vocal about it. As with Bisphenol-A, and many other chemicals, the truth about their toxicity cannot be hidden forever. This only shows that you should never believe everything you read, especially if it’s from product manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers.
At times, it may seem as if all products known to man has the potential to cause cancer However, do not dismiss the connection out of hand because it may very well be true. As may be expected, manufacturers of Drysol and other potentially harmful products would prefer you think that all these warnings are just media sensation. But would you really put yourself at risk, testing the product on yourself? When this happens, you may not even remember you used Drysol!
Cancer is a terrible disease, but you can protect yourself from it. A good way of doing this is by shunning anything that can damage the makeup of your cells. Avoid using Drysol as much as possible. You may even find that newer research on some of the ingredients found in underarm deodorants like Drysol will prove that they do, in fact, increase the chance of developing cancerous cells.
