US Masters Tickets- What Is The Best Day To Watch?

We’re constantly bombarded with question what is the best day to go and watch the iconic us masters golf tournament. The short answer is that it really depends on what you want to see. Let’s go through the pros and cons and discover the best day to secure your us masters tickets.

From a thrills and action perspective, Sunday is definitely the best day to go. The field has been trimmed to the in form players courtesy of the 36 hole cut. The cream has risen to the top. This is often the case in majors due to the difficulty of the course and the pressure of the situation. You definitely want to be there to watch the famous back nine on sunday and see the leaders tackle amen corner. For the uninitiated, amen corner is holes 10, 11 and 12. The place where so many players have seen their chance of wearing the green jacket vanish and greatly improve. Their is a chance of a two shot swing at every hole due to green side water hazards at two of the three holes. Why wouldn’t you want to see the leaders play the 13th and 15th holes, two reachable par 5′s. Recent masters tournaments have been decided with low scores on those holes. Finally you can watch the winner make the enviable walk up the 18th fairway to the cheering patrons; something only golf’s legends have been fortunate enough to do. Not suprisingly seeing the action on the weekend is the most expensive of all days.

Thursday offers the chance to see the full field play, from the invited amateurs, past champions to current tour players. By far, the highlight of Thursday is seeing the traditional opening ceremony where 2-3 of the games greats. Usually Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player lead the field off and hit the opening drive of the tournament. Imagine seeing the best player of all time play in the same group.

If you’re looking to interact with the players, then the practice days are the best days to go. The players are much more casual in their approach. Often you can talk to the players, take photos, video swings, get autographs and move more freely around groups. Players will often hot multiple shots off tees and approachs, testing their strategy and club selection for the holes during tournament play. Wednesday day’s practice day also features the famous par 3 tournament, held on the adjacent par 3 tournament. The patrons love this event due to the relaxed atmosphere, most players get the son or daughter to caddy and the fact the numerous holes in one are scored on this day. The greens staff will set the flags in spots where balls funnel to the hole; increasing the chances of a hole out. An interesting stat is that the winner of the par 3 tournament has never won the tournament proper.

Each day of the masters tournament is good and bad in its own way, mostly good!. If you can afford tickets for the masters then I would get a pass for all tournament days and really make a week of it. If not, just get masters practice tickets. Play golf around the Augusta area and savour the experience. A small Georgian town swells to a small city, even a regular dinner outing can lead to a chance meeting with tournament players.
