Should I sue eBay / PSA?
Here’s what I wrote to GAI (Global Authentication):
“RE: Possible eBay/PSA Fraud
Dear Sir or Ma’am,
Over the past 2 weeks, I have listed several GAI-authenticated signed photos of Mickey Mantle on eBay, and ebay has cancelled the auctions, saying that they had consulted with an independent authenticator (probably PSA/DNA) and question the authenticity of the signatures. eBay says I should send the photos to one of their “preferred” authenticators: GAI is one of their preferred authenticators. I believe PSA/DNA is using its online opinion service to fraudulantly draw more business and with the full knowledge, if not backing, of eBay. I don’t want to go as far as to say that eBay gets kickbacks from PSA, but I wouldn’t rule it out. Also, the last time I listed the photos, I kept the pics at such a distance that you couldn’t read the signatures very well – certainly not well enough for an opinion to be given.”
What are your opinions?
eBay have to cover their backs…if they’ve advised you do something, you should do it. If you believe one company isn’t safe, use a different one.
Don’t blame eBay or try to sue someone…just look elsewhere.
