Why is the 1958 Colts-Giants NFL Championship game considered the best football game of all time?
That game has the nickname of the “Greatest Game Ever Played” because it was the game that put football on the map. Before then, the most popular sport in America had always been baseball. After that game though, it began to switch to football. It was a major turning point in American sports history.
