Was Hideki Matsui sent packing by the Yankees due to his inability to learn to speak English?
Many years with the Yankees and he really should be speaking by now, but NADA, nothing! Is this the real reason?
And what does this say for Mariana Rivera? 23 years or so Closing for the Yanks and broken English is all we get? unbelievable…

honestly, it pisses me off when players do that… I’m a Mariners fan and Ichiro does the same thing..
I mean, I respect them and the right so speak whatever language they want to… but I just feel someone who has the desire to learn at least the basics is a more friendly and well rounded person as a whole
to me, it seems a little stuck up that regardless of a translator, that one would isolate themselves like that… millions of dollars, playing baseball for a living, the fans crawl at your feet, all the chicks you want.. and you can’t even learn a few words of the international language?
the under line is quiet obviously “f*ck you”
to me its a lack of passion to keep baseball under such terms of ‘business’
