What was the first murder case that……?
was a “breakthrough” of sorts for DNA?
Was it the case of Dr. Jim Klindt in Davenport, IA?

Just business as usual for Kes, I’m afraid. The first use of DNA was due to the murder of two school girls in Leicestershire…I believe…England. There was a suspect who admitted to the murders, but a doctor who was brought in on the case (name??) compared the semen sample with blood from the suspect. No match. Guy let free. Police had more than 5,000 locals give blood samples to police (can you imagine that being tried here?). No match. Sometime later a man named Ian (name?) was overheard at a bar bragging that he had stood in for his friend Colin Pitchfork at the blood draw. Pitchfork was arrested and was a match. Life in prison.
