Johnson Signed

Now that the Big Unit Randy Johnson has signed with the SF Giants, do you think that the Giants can contend?
I’m pretty shocked at how Randy signed with the Giants. Nothing against the Giants, but they’re about 2 years away from serious playoff contention. With Johnson most likely playing his last year, I would think he wants to sign with someone like the Cubs or Yanks/Sox to give him the best chance at a ring.
Now with the Giants, they already have strong pitching, just that their hitting stinks. With Randy, do you think they can contend for the division crown or the wild card in the NL?

I’m surprised the Big Unit signed with San Fran too. That was a team I didn’t see him going to. I guess he wanted to go close to home, and the Giants will be much better with him. The Giants will have a great rotation (Lincecum, Zito, Johnson, Cain and Sanchez), and the Giants could be an under-the-radar team next season. They could contend for the Wild Card, but the division is a bit of a reach.
