Why was Michael Spinks stripped of the IBF heavyweight title he “won” of Larry Holmes?
I know that he fought Gerry Cooney next, but who did he refuse to face in of favour facing Cooney that got him stripped of the title. Can somebody let me know please?
He was stripped for refusing to fight his mandatory Tony Tucker, instead choosing to face Gerry Cooney in a much more lucrative fight. Props to him, alphabet belts are a joke and I think he made the right decision.
