You’d have a hard time convincing me that Munson had a better career than Berra or Bill Dickey, or even Posada. His career was in a steep decline before his tragic death, and there’s no way he makes the Yankee All-Time team.
Also: how does Tommy Heinrich not make this team? The man had a career 132 OPS+. Combs might be in the HOF, but Heinrich was a better player.
Also: Don Larsen won 81 games in his career, and only 45 games for the Yankees. Waite Hoyt won 237 games, pitched for the 1927 Yanks, and is in the HOF. And I’d probably take Catfish Hunter over Orlando Hernandez.
