Lou Gehrig

Is Lou Gehrig the closest thing to Superman in baseball?
Or do you liken somebody else to Superman. You might consider personality too. Superman stood for truth, justice, and the American way.
Maybe you don’t even know who Lou Gehrig is. How sad! He played with Babe Ruth on the NY Yankeees back in the 1920′s &30′s.
Have you forgotten about Cal Ripken Jr? He also does a lot of charity work and things for the community as well. He has set up the Cal Ripken baseball camps for kids as well.
I don’t need to mention his playing days do I? 2,632 consecutive games to break Lou Gehrig’s record, 3,184 hits, 431 home runs, 1,695 RBIs…19 time all-star and 1 World Series ring
I’d say Ripken is pretty close…as far as someone who is actively playing…Pujols or Jeter come to mind.
