Minnie Minoso
Chicago White Sox Players Past and Present?

Just a little question for my fellow White Sox fans. What would your dream White Sox team look like?

My 25 man White Sox roster would be:

Infield Starters:
3B Robin Ventura
SS Luis Aparicio
2B Nellie Fox
1B Paul Konerko
C Carlton Fisk

Outfield Starters:
LF Shoeless Joe Jackson
CF Lance Johnson
RF Magglio Ordonez

Designated Hitter:
Frank Thomas ( Thome is great as well but, he hasn’t been a White Sox for long, I will go with the long time White Sox over the short term White Sox)

Starting Rotation:
Ted Lyons
Jack McDowell
Tim Belcher
Billy Pierce
Wilson Alverez

Closer:
Roberto Hernandez

Bench:
Ozzie Guillen
Minnie Minoso
Harold Baines
Luke Appling
Sandy Alomar Jr.
Alex Cintron

Bullpen:
Bobby Jenks
Bobby Thigpen
LaMar Hoyt
Lefty Williams
This is not an All-Time roster for me but a dream roster with players from the different eras of the team.
These are just some of my favorite players from the team.

One change I’d definitely make in your starting lineup would be to bench Nellie Fox in favor of Eddie Collins. Fox is a great player, but Eddie Collins is up there with names like Honus Wagner and Frankie Frisch when it comes to all-time greats.

I’d also probably bench Lance Johnson, move Jackson to center, and get Minoso in the starting lineup…..Johnson is good, but not that good.

My biggest change would be with the rotation. Eddie Cicotte, Ed Walsh and Red Faber would displace Alvarez, Belcher and McDowell.
