Bet On Warm Weather In Vegas

One of the most amazing things about Las Vegas is that it even exists at all. In the heart of a practically waterless desert, it was for decades barely more than a stopover for tourists between Utah and Southern California. The development of the Hoover Dam and the legalization of casino betting in the 1930s changed all of that.  Over the past eighty years, Las Vegas has grown to be one of the leading destination resorts in the world, featuring alluring casinos, world class entertainment by some of the nation’s best acts, and more.

Of course, Las Vegas is a city that is continuously reinventing itself.  You’ll uncover little in the way of history here. What you will locate is a mainly warm climate that ranges from a high of 115 degrees in the summer to a low of 37 in the winter as well as many tourist attractions and cultural events that go far beyond night club acts and shows on The Strip’s various hotel-casino venues. Over the past several years, in appreciation of the necessity for various alternatives to the extravagant costume shows and reviews that have been a staple of Las Vegas night life since the late 1940s, the first Friday of each month is a celebration of area artists and musicians who are featured in a part of downtown that has become Las Vegas’ Arts District.

Sports fans might be disappointed to find out that Las Vegas has no major league teams, but minor league baseball and hockey games can be experienced throughout the year and it is quite probable that the city may yet pick up a major league baseball or soccer team very quickly, as negotiations are apparently underway.

In addition to casino gaming and other enjoyment venues, there are quite a few outdoor points of interest within close driving distance of Las Vegas condo rentals.  One of these is the Las Vegas Springs Reserve, which features desert botanical gardens and hiking trails through a wetland habitation in addition to an amphitheater that frequently provides concerts and lectures.   Another is the Floyd Lamb State Park, an urban retreat around Tule Springs. This park includes fishing ponds as well as the Tule Springs Archaeological Site,  giving guests a fascinating glimpse into the area’s pre-Columbian history.  When you’re ready for some exercise, Las Vegas features two world-class golf courses; the Palm Valley Golf Club and the Boulder Creek Golf Club, both of which are open to the general public and are conveniently based close to Las Vegas golf vacation rentals.

Las Vegas has thrilling night life entertainment, but it also has some pretty great outdoor activities to participate in as well such as touring Red Rock Canyon, based only 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas.    There is also Lake Mead as well as the famous Hoover Dam.  Las Vegas really does have something to offer everyone, exciting indoor and outdoor playgrounds.
