HOF: Who will be the first Toronto Blue Jay inducted?
Four men have played for the Blue Jays and later been elected to the Hall Of Fame: Rickey Henderson (1993), Paul Molitor (1993-95), Phil Niekro (1987), and Dave Winfield (1992). However, and understandably, none of them have the Blue Jays logo on their plaque cap (the Hall has announced that Henderson’s plaque will have the Athletics logo).
Who will be the first HOFer to wear the Jay?
Joe Carter has already been on the BBWAA ballot, in 2004, and was removed from consideration after receiving under 5%.
The only player they’ve had with HOF numbers is Roberto Alomar. Whether he’ll go in as a Jay (if he’s ever elected) is another question altogether.
