What do you think of Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns?
On one hand, you got Nash playing some of the best basketball in his career. Dishing assists, scoring, and simply taking control when his team needs it. But on the other hand, the Phoenix Suns basically spell “inconsistent”. A numerous amount of first-half double-digit leads have been blown, with players like Richardson and Frye finding it hard to string together their hot games from their cold games throughout the season.
Come playoff time, if the Suns make it, do you think they will be a force to be reckoned with, or do you see them crumbling under pressure?
I love Big Steve. Unfortunately, he’s never played for a team or a coach that preached Defense. Don Nelson, Mike D’Antoni, and the rest of the clowns that have coached Nash have all been “Let’s just outscore the other team!” coaches. Works in the regular season, but always fails in the playoffs. I firmly believe that if Nash had played for a defense-first coach like Greg Popovich, he’d have become at least a good defensive player. But if the coach never preaches defense, you can’t blame the player for his defensive shortcomings.
I see the Suns season this year ending the same way as their previous playoff seasons. They’ll run into a more balanced team and get bounced.
