Heh, I knew this was coming.

First off- Joe, the announcers didn’t say he should be suspended, they said he should get a penalty (which he should and did). Renney said he should be suspended.

I mean, I don’t really care, honestly. Voros wasn’t in the crease, and while goalies do clear their crease, that wasn’t an appropriate way to do it. The crosscheck, yeah, whatever, I can deal with that, but a two-handed slash to the back of the knee? That’s messed up. But, he got a penalty (and we scored on the 5 on 3), so as far as I’m concerned, it’s over and done with.

And yeah, Hextall and Smith played a much more violent game, but the league has changed since then… they’d be suspended in a second in today’s league. You can’t compare the two.

Do I think it was right of Smith to do that? No. Do I think he should be suspended? No. Do I think he deserved a penalty? Yes. Do I think he’s a jackass? Yes, but heh, I’m supposed to… he’s on an opposing team!
