Why doesn’t Rory Mcilroy have any FedEx Cup points?

Rory Mcilroy turned pro in 2007, and has played 3 PGA events in the USA this year… why doesn’t he have any FEDEX cup points?

Rory s not a member of the PGA TOUR. He is a member of the European Tour. He can play in PGA events, but he has not joined the PGA TOUR and therefore is not eligible for Fedex Cup points.

One has to apply for PGA TOUR membership, pay dues, join the player’s union,and play a minimum number of PGA TOUR events.
