What Do You Buy Wine Connoisseurs?

Unless you’re a wine lover yourself, it’s always a challenge to find a present at Christmas, birthdays or anniversaries for wine lovers. You may be quite likely to go wrong if you give them a bottle of wine for instance and they probably are likely to have a whole range of wine glasses, and a Bart Simpson bottle opener is not likely to go down well, but with these ideas up your sleeve you should be able to cover all bases for the next year or so.

Take them on a tour of a vineyard: Any opportunity to get back to the roots of wine production will be appreciated by wine lovers. There are many local vine yards so check the internet to see if there are any in your area. Local wines make great conversational pieces for dinner parties, they’ll be taken on a tour of the vineyard and be taught all about the local environmental conditions that have contributed to the taste of the wine.

Buy them tickets to a wine tasting course or event: Even if they’ve done something similar before, they will relish the chance to spend time with others that share their passion, especially experts in the field and to taste wines that they may not have tried before.

Sign them up to a wine club: There are hundreds of different kinds of wine clubs that cater to many different interests. Wine clubs generally follow a similar format with a sample from a range of countries or type sent out for review from the members. Many are subscription based and can therefore work out quite expensive if you’re signing up for the year. However you can often buy gift vouchers towards the subscription or ask for a one month trial.

Wine magazine subscription: A subscription to a popular wine magazine makes a thoughtful gift that can be enjoyed over and over every month of the year.
