Anyone else bummed about Duke Snider?
I generally don’t care when someone famous dies or even a lot of athletes but Duke was one of the all time nice guys. I still have an auto I got from him when I was a kid when he was the broadcaster for the Montreal Expos (I sent through the mail, he sent back a week later). This is a sad one. Duke will be missed.
His career stood on it’s own. He was a Hall of Famer in the true sense of what being a Hall of Famer is supposed to be. He didn’t need people to beg for him to get in or have some silly new fangled analysis of his stats to try to get him in. He was the real deal. That just leaves us with Willie of the famous trio. Sad, sad day for baseball.
