MLS All Star Game: Man United vs MLS – 8:30pm EST on ESPN2
Major League Soccer had an innovative idea to spruce up its 2010 MLS All Star game; invite the most famous soccer team on the globe for a match. Manchester United, the equivalent of the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Los Angeles Lakers COMBINED in the famous English Premier League will take on the 2010 MLS All Stars in what will draw a huge crowd, good ratings and plenty of action at online sportsbooks. Manchester United -165 has opened as the soccer betting favorite vs the MLS +350 while a draw or tie would return +270 in 2010 MLS All Star game odds with and an over/under total of 2.5 OVER (-142). Tonight’s game will kick-off at 8:30pm EST from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas and can be seen on ESPN2 or Galavision.
While Manchester United is the cream of the crop in the English Premier League, they will have some key players out including World Cup stars Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Park Ji-Sung. Some of the big names that will be available for Manchester United in 2010 MLS All Star game odds include Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nani. Most footballers would think that Manchester United is a lock in soccer betting odds to win but they would be wise to think again as the Kansas City Wizards stunned Man U 2-1 on Sunday while the New York Red Bulls also took down English powerhouse Manchester City 2-1.
Another advantage that the 2010 MLS All Stars have is that they are in mid-season form while Manchester United is gearing up for their season which kicks-off on August 14th. It is believed that Manchester United coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, will not want his players going all out and risking injury in prep for the upcoming season. While a lot of “public” gambling money will be on Manchester United, the All Stars will be motivated to continue their sport’s momentum that has been building with the World Cup and now have the opportunity to show once again that the USA is ready to play ball with tonight’s visit from Man U.
