If my husband signed my name on the joint tax return for our state, is this legal?
We are going through a divorce and he is angry. He filled out the wrong state tax form (homestead rebate for tenants and we are homeowners) and I caught the error and did not sign it.
Today is the deadline, and he has yet to give me the completed correct form. He is not at home, and I just have a feeling that he has signed the form “for” me.
Forging a signature on anything is fraud. It is a criminal act!
