big name unsigned- part I hitter?
1B: ryan klesko: used to be a star, still a decent player, give the man a job
2B: tony graffanino: can handle semi-regular duty, utility role
3B: woodward, clayton, neifi perez r utlity options
SS: jeff cirillo: used to be a star, can still hit for average if given regular pt. you can do worse
OF: barry bonds: despite legal woes, still an all-star
corey patterson: i don't understand this, 5-tool potential, only 28
kenny lofton: decent platoon player, good avg, stolen base total
shawn green: hit .291 last year
reggie sanders: injury prone sure. can still handle semi-regular duty, spectacular left-handed bat
preston wilson: 2003 NL leader in rbi, still only 33. can definitely play. decent speed/power
orlando palmeiro: good pinch-hitting option
rondell white: at least give him a minor-league deal
jerry hairston: yeah he stinks in the last 2 years, but only 31. give him a minor league deal and let him work out his issues
damian miller: decent stop-gap starting catcher
ya but al those players have had big slip ups in recent years if teams like the d rays or royals were smart they would sign some of those big names the pirates should 2
