Spanish Help: Ser & Estar: Choose the correct word from the parenthesize? 15 Questions/Choose the correct word?

I’ve looked at many sites to see if I could figure it out, and I haven’t had any luck, so I need some help…
Here are the questions:
1. Nosotros (estamos/somos) estudiando por el examen final.
2. (Están/son) las tres de la tarde.
3. Mi padre (está/es) un profesor en esta escuela.
4. ¿Dónde (está/es) mi libro de espanol?
5. Esta (está/es) mi pluma.
6. Mi auto (está/es) azul.
7. Mi auto (está/es) nuevo.
8. Juan no (está/es) en la clase hoy.
9. Hoy (está/es) jueves.
10. ¿Cómo (estás/eres) hoy?
11. Juan (estás/es) de Puerto Rico.
12. Ella (está/es) francés.
13. La señora (está/es) muy baja.
14. Yo (estoy/soy) muy feliz hoy.
15. El (está/es) muy cansado.

To make it easier just keep in mind that SER is used for inherent conditions and ESTAR for tansitory situations.

1. estamos (they are studying for the final exam, it is a transitory thing)
2. son (for time and day and dates you always use the conjugation of SER)

7. es/está (for old an new – viejo y nuevo – it sometimes can be both)

9. es (for time and day and dates you always use the conjugation of SER)

12. es (however if it is talking about a girl it should say francesa not frances as in from france)
