Any golf professionals, please help? (Anyone with a 10 handicap or lower?)?
Hello, I have a few questions for you that are my weak spots:
1.) How far can you drive the ball?
2.) Are you able to hit the driver off the deck? (Like if you were faced with a 600 yard par 5, would you and be okay with it?)
3.) How many GIRs do you make every round ( just an estimate.)
4.) How many putts do you average per round?
5.) How do you control distance while putting?
6.)Do you carry any long irons in your bag? If so, which ones?
7). About how many times a round do you hit your long irons (or hybrids if you have them.)?
8.): What is your key course management tip?

I’m a HS golf captain, 6 handicap, lessons for over 4 years with a PGA pro.
1) Controlled with a shot shape-250-ish. Farthest-285 at times. Not a big distance guy
2) I would. because my driver is traditionally shaped, and only 440CC, It just looks slightly bigger than my 3 wood.
3) 9-usually 7-8. 18-usually 14-15
4) under 2, about 1.80
5) I will use a reverse grip when faced with longer putts (Im righty, but I’ll switch my hands) I take the putter back to the same point every time (back foot) and how far I want the putt to go is based on how far I take it past my front foot
6) yes, 3,4,5 of the Nike VR TW Forged Blades
7) There isn’t really a set number. It obviously depends on the course length and shot placement. Usually not too often on most courses around here, because a 250+ drive can set you up with a short iron. I love long irons though, I thrive on hitting them and especially shaping shots with them, ESPECIALLY my 3 iron
I keep it simple. Hit the fairway, hit the green, putt for birdie. If you really think about it, if you did that every time, you’d shoot par or under with ease. If you miss a fairway, you probably lose distance. Therefore you have to hit an extra club or swing harder which is never good. My goal every time I play is 100% FIR and 100% GIR. Do I ever reach that? I did hit all fairways once, but never all the GIR. And sometimes I will purposely miss the green short (or wherever it’s safe) so I can chip instead of putt. I have alot more confidence in my wedges than I do my putter, especially at long distances.
