What team cap will Gary Sheffield wear in the Hall of Fame?

Sheffield has played for SO many teams: Brewers, Dodgers, Marlins, Padres, Braves Yankees, Tigers … etc. If he does make the HOF, he has almost 500 homers and 1,500 RBI (Mantle-like career numbers) what team cap do you think major league baseball would pick for him?

Sheffield is one of the very few players who drive me absolutely nuts when assessing his Hall candidacy. I know he’s got an impressive set of numbers, but he’s also got a handful of diminishing controversies packaged alongside, and no matter how closely I scrutinize him, nothing, NOTHING to my eye, stands up from his personal playing history and proclaims “Hall-worthy!”

He’s not done yet, and that is very much in his favor.

But we have seen over 3/4 of his career. Aside from touching a few zero-laden numbers, he’s not going to do very much more, nothing that will make him look significantly better.

So I still don’t feel confident that a plaque is in his future. Could be.

Were I the Hall’s minter, I’d put a Milwaukee cap on his plaque profile just to piss him off.
