Can someone please tell me why Tim Hudson has yet to pitch in the playoffs?
he has been the braves’ best pitcher all year, a potential cy young winner and 2 games in the braves-giants series, he has yet to throw a pitch. why?
He is the Braves best starting pitcher; so he pitched the last day of the regular season because the Braves needed to win it. You can’t really question the decision to pitch him in game 3. It still guarantees him a start in the NLDS, and he gets to pitch at home where the Braves are a much better team.
It looks like it worked out well for the Braves to have Hudson starting such a critical game. Had he started game 1, he would have had to pitch a shut out to give the Braves a chance to win. The Braves won game 2 without him. Game 3 is the best case scenario for him to pitch in hindsight.
