Should I trade Donald Driver and Derrick Ward for Marc Bulger and Tony Gonzalez?
14 team head to head league, starting positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF with a bunch of bench spots. Right now my RBs are Ward, Travis Henry, Willis McGahee and Tatum Bell. My WRs are Driver, Javon Walker, Vincent Jackson, Mike Furrey and Jerry Porter. My QBs are Jake Delhomme and Brian Griese (Joey Harrington is available also). Right now my record is 3-1. Ward obviously will see a reduction in carries with Jacobs coming back next week, but is the banged up Bulger worth it?
Look like I won’t be going after Bulger. What about Brees? I do have Roddy White at WR also and Crayton is available….should i drop anyone I have and pick him up?
Nope. Bulger is really hurt, and so is his offensive line, which translates into MORE SACKS. More sacks mean higher potential for an even worse injury. Gonzalez doesn’t have a reliable QB to get him the ball, and KC’s schedule is only gonna get tougher. Gonzalez isn’t a major part of the Chief’s offense like many people think. Dallas Clark and Chris Cooley are major players on their teams. Cooley even runs reverses!!! Look at yesterday’s stat line: Marvin Harrison got hurt and wasn’t a factor. Reggie Wayne got a TD at the end of the game and only had 33 yrds receiving. Dallas Clark had 2 TDs and more yards than Harrison and Wayne combined. Cooley had a bye week, but Jason Campbell always looks for him because Santana Moss and Randle El are usually covered.
Brett Favre has a reliable target in Driver and Jennings is coming along. Beside, the Pack play the Bears at Lambeau Sunday, and Brett and Co will look to prove that this season isn’t a fluke. Although Brandon Jacobs MIGHT come back next Ward is still a force. He has been a sure 10-12 points every week since Jacobs went down. Keep Ward for now as running backs will be worth their weight in gold when the weather gets bad.
Bottom line: Keep Driver and Bulger.
