Whitey Ford

Whitey Ford
Can anyone tell me what the big deal about Joba Chamberlain is?

He’s put up average stats over his three seasons. If he was in Kansas City no one would have ever head of him, yet people seem to act like he’s the second coming of Whitey Ford. What is the big deal about this guy?

Well I agree with you and I’m a Yankee fan. He came to us with high hopes. He had a blazing fastball and it looked like a lock for him to start and take off. Then came the “Joba Rules” that limited his innings. He kind of became a prima donna because of it all. As it turns out he’s better suited for a setup man. He can give you 1-3 innings of control with heat but as a starter he loses it in the middle innings. Phil Hughes or Alfredo Aceves should be the 5th starter not Joba.

On Whitey Ford Sings the Blues, Everlast’s seco…
