WWE & Maria – Separate ways from now

WWE has recently released some of their superstars and officials, yet again. The list includes some big names like Maria and Gregory “Hurricane” Helms. Along with these two, the rest who were given pink slips are Paul Burchill, Charlie Haas and referee Scott Armstrong.

Maria who just very recently turned 28 was arguably one of the most popular female faces of the company. She was the cover girl of Playboy and had also won “Diva of the Year” Slammy Award in 2009 – an award where the winners are voted by the fans. The star has been axed after being with the company for six long years and she tweeted recently that the news was quite shocking to her. Particularly for the fans of Maria as she was one op the top most divas in the business these days and it will really be tough for WWE to fill up her space.

Gregory Helms’ exit was less shocking though for the fans. The wrestler was recently arrested and charged with being “intoxicated in a public place” in Kentucky together with Chris Jericho. He was not a major card wrestler anyway and was given a less important role in currently defunct ECW. He is expected to join TNA soon and has already made a verbal agreement with the organization. TNA has plans to start a new stable with Jeff hardy, Shannon Moore, Helms and Jesse Neal.

WWE is expected to cut their roaster even shorter in the coming weeks after they axed their ECW brand.
