Do the umpires drink water during a major league baseball game?

I have been to quite a few baseball games in my life……from the Red Sox in Fenway Park…..A few Yankees spring training games in Fort Lauderdale….and more recently to Florida Marlins games…..One thing I have noticed is that the umpires NEVER seem to drink any water (or other fluids) during the game. During the “break in the action” when there is an ad on the TV at home, sometimes the home plate and third base ump may chat a bit…..but never seen them get a drink.

If it’s a hot day, you had better believe they drink during a game. They simply go into the dugout between innings. You probably haven’t noticed because you weren’t paying close enough attention, or it wasn’t a hot enough day for the umpire to want a drink.
